Shadow Teaching Services in Bangalore

Every child deserves the chance to learn, belong and grow in a mainstream classroom. Our shadow teachers work one-to-one with children who need extra support at school, helping them take part in lessons, follow routines and build confidence, while working closely with teachers and parents.

About the Service

What Is Shadow Teaching?

A shadow teacher is a trained support person who works alongside a child in a regular school. The shadow teacher helps the child understand and take part in classroom learning, activities and routines, so the child can be included in school life.

The aim is not to do the work for the child. The shadow teacher gives the right level of support, such as breaking down instructions, keeping the child on task or helping with transitions, and then gradually reduces that support as the child becomes more independent.

At Little Golden Cub Foundation, shadow teaching is part of a wider, multidisciplinary approach. Goals can be shared with therapists, special educators and psychologists so that what a child learns in therapy can be practised in the classroom.

Frequently Asked Questions

Shadow Teaching FAQs

Answers to common questions parents and schools ask about shadow teaching.

What is a shadow teacher?
A shadow teacher is a trained support person who works alongside a child in a regular school, helping the child take part in lessons, activities and routines, and gradually building independence.
How do I know if my child needs a shadow teacher?
Children who find it hard to follow instructions, stay focused, manage behavior or join in with classmates may benefit from extra support. A conversation and assessment can help you decide whether shadow teaching is a good fit.
Will the shadow teacher do my child’s work for them?
No. The shadow teacher gives only the support the child needs, such as clearer instructions, prompts and encouragement, and gradually reduces help as the child becomes more independent.
Does the school need to agree?
Shadow teaching works best as a partnership between parents, the school and the therapy team. Most schools have their own guidelines on shadow teachers, so we recommend speaking with your child’s school early. Our team can help you with that conversation.
How is progress shared with parents?
We review goals regularly and share updates with parents and, where appropriate, the school, along with practical ideas to support your child at home.
How long will my child need a shadow teacher?
This depends on your child’s needs, goals and progress. The aim is to build independence, so support is gradually reduced over time. Your team will discuss a suitable plan after assessment.
How do I enquire about shadow teaching services?
Contact or WhatsApp our team on +91 80763 22623 to discuss your child’s needs, your school and the availability of shadow teaching support.
